During a meeting with the Turkish ambassador to Baghdad, Mr. Ali Reza Kony, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Nabeel Kadim Abdul Sahib reviewed developing cooperation between the educational institutions of the two countries.
Dr. Abdul Sahib congratulated the Ambassador and his accompanying delegation on the occasion of the blessed month of Ramadan and expressed the hopes that peace would prevail over all the peoples of the region and the world.
His Excellency renewed the Ministry’s readiness and its academic institutions on enhancing scientific and academic coordination, exchanging of cultural relations and experiences and developing the fields that serve the two countries according to the contexts and mechanisms of cooperation.
Dr. Abdul Sahib reviewed that the two sides agreed on forming a joint committee to determine priorities and update the details required for the two sides to renew the agreement between Iraq and Turkey in the fields of higher education and scientific research.
For his part, Mr. Kony expressed the Turkish side’s readiness on developing the course of academic relations between the two countries, consolidating scientific understanding between Iraqi and Turkish universities and enhancing programs related to scholarships and fellowships.
It is worth mentioning that the meeting was attended by the Director-General of the Scholarships and Cultural Relations.
