Board research at Basrah University College of Medicine discussed the effectiveness of carotid Doppler in coronary artery disease. The research presented by the student Muhammad Kazem Abdul-Zahra aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the use of Doppler examination of the carotid artery in patients with coronary heart arteries in Basrah. A prospective and retrospective cohort analysis of the efficacy of using carotid Doppler examination in coronary heart disease patients at Al-Sadr Teaching Hospital was conducted. 115 patients were diagnosed with ischemic heart disease and confirmed atherosclerotic changes by coronary angiography study and underwent carotid Doppler examination. The research concluded that the carotid Doppler scan of patients with suspected coronary heart disease is critical for the prediction of coronary atherosclerosis, as it has the advantages of accessibility, feasibility, and cost-effectiveness. Furthermore, age, smoking, exercise, and high blood pressure have all been considered as predictors of the risk of developing atherosclerosis.
