A PhD thesis at the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Basrah discussed (the effect of different methods of estrus generation during the non-breeding season on reproductive performance and biochemical and hormonal changes in the local ewes breed).
The thesis by researcher Shaima Nahi Naeem included revealing the effect of methods of induction of estrus outside the reproductive season on the rate of estrus and pregnancy and the diagnosis of early pregnancy using ultrasound technology, as well as the effect of physiological periods on some hormones in addition to its impact on biochemical parameters and antioxidants.
The thesis aimed to identify the effect of hormonal treatments on reproductive performance and on some hormones and biochemical parameters outside the reproductive season.
The thesis concluded that the hormonal treatments used to induce estrus enhance reproductive performance, and the physiological periods had an effect on some hormones and biochemical parameters in this study.
