The Director of Avicenna E-Learning Center at the University of Basrah, Dr. Uday Bashir Issa, chaired the discussion committee for a master’s thesis at the Southern Technical University entitled (Control of the speed of the permanent magnet synchronous motor equipped with a multi-level commutator based on smart technologies).
The thesis submitted by the student (Doaa Saleh Nasser) in the Master of Electrical Engineering Techniques program dealt with the use of a two-level and three-level voltage source inverter with pulse width modulation based on SVPWM to supply the appropriate voltage to the permanent magnet synchronous motor. Also, a FOC type control system was used to control the engine speed, where the integrated proportional controller was used, the PI, whose parameters must be adjusted through four control strategies (SCA, LFD, WOA, and DA).
After discussing the thesis and its contents and the conformity of the results, the committee decided to accept the study and grant the student a master's degree in electrical engineering techniques with a grade of very good.
