The College of Pharmacy at the University of Basrah organized a panel discussion entitled (Bilosome as a new development of vesicular system), with the participation of researchers and specialists.
The panel discussion included a lecture given by Assistant Lecturer Nour Youssef, in which she discussed the new vesicular drug delivery systems that led to the pharmaceutical industry at a whole new level by addressing many of the obstacles associated with drug delivery.
Conventional vesicular systems of liposomes and microparticles have shown attractive potentials in increasing the oral bioavailability of therapeutic agents and the immune response. However, the efficacy of conventional vesicles has been compromised by their instability in the GI tract necessitating modification of the bilayer structures to improve their resistance in living body.
