During a meeting with the President of the Islamic University of Lebanon, President’s Assistant of the Executive Council of the Association of Arab Universities, Dr. Hassan Laqis and his accompanying delegation, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Nabeel Kadim Abdul Sahib renewed the commitment of the ministry to the scientific and professional standards and academic determinants in dealing with the file of universities abroad and adopting of academic and legal contexts in the equivalency of certificates.
Dr. Abdul Sahib said that the trend of universities in the world is moving towards reviewing the indicators produced by the conditions of the pandemic and raising the level of standard accuracy in responding to the requirements for dealing with admission.
His Excellency said that the Ministry and its relevant Directorates are open to Arabic and regional universities according to the fixed scientific and academic standards, which represent a common basis for cooperation in the fields of academic work.
Dr. Abdul Sahib confirmed the Iraqi Universities’ willingness to grant a number of scholarships for Arab and foreign students.
For his part, Dr. Laqis expressed his happiness on this meeting, which included an integrated road map to determine the required procedures in the cooperation environment between the two sides.
It is worth mentioning that the meeting was attended by the Director General of the Scholarships and Cultural Relations.
