The College of Dentistry at the University of Basrah organized a scientific lecture on facial nerve paralysis, which was given by Hala Abbas Hussein.
The lecture included an introduction to the facial nerve and its branches, which is the seventh nerve as a sequence within the cerebral nerves, and mentioned the most important causes of this disease, which may be viral, bacterial, or as a result of cerebral diseases. In some cases, it may occur suddenly and without an apparent reason, and it is called in this case (Bell's palsy).
The lecture aims to clarify diagnostic methods such as radiography and electromyography of the muscles involved in paralysis.
