A master's thesis at Basra University discusses the variation in the density of car transport on the main roads in Dhi Qar Governorate.
The master's thesis in the Department of Geography / College of Education for Human Sciences, University of Basra, examined the variation in the density of car transport on the main roads in Dhi Qar Governorate / for the student (Ali Abdul-Kareem Jawad Al-Hachami ). The thesis dealt with a study of the variation in the density of road transport by car on the main road network in the governorate Dhi Qar with description, analysis and conclusion, and the main goal of preparing this study was to show the current reality of the main road network in Dhi Qar Governorate and measure the extent of the variation in traffic intensity on it, and its efficiency in meeting the economic, social and service needs of its users, because the transport sector aims mainly In facilitating the movement of all economic sectors (agricultural, industrial and commercial. )
The thesis included five chapters, the first chapter of which dealt with the historical dimension of transportation methods and its means of movement in Dhi Qar governorate and how to classify and distribute them according to the nature of their association with its main administrative units (districts and sub-districts). The second chapter of them was concerned with studying natural and human geographical controls and variables and the level of their side effects on The establishment of road networks and the efficiency of their operation in the governorate, while the third chapter of it studies the density of freight transport vehicles (loads) on the main roads in the Dhi Qar governorate, while the fourth chapter of it has been studied the density of passenger transport vehicles on the main roads in Dhi Qar governorate. By following the same method of work followed in the third chapter, the fifth chapter dealt with the reality and future of car transport on land roads in Dhi Qar governorate through knowledge of the most important main variables affecting the movement of cars and the development of their numbers and types, whether for cargo (load) cars or for passengers, and a study Projection of the future of road transport by car for the next ten years in light of the change in population and vehicle numbers And length of roads, in order to develop appropriate plans to accommodate the density of traffic in the future, and this is a true reflection of the reality of the development of transport during the period (1950-2019). )
The thesis concluded that human factors have played a direct role in influencing the movement of cars on the main roads in the governorate. These factors have greatly contributed to the decrease or increase in the intensity of variation through their direct effect on movement and mobility as they are variable and directly related to humans, and therefore they are It controls the density and variability of movement on the main roads, and the natural factors also have a direct or indirect effect on the variation in the density of freight transport vehicles (load) and passengers on the main roads as well as along the road networks in the governorate, and the effect of these factors varied between positive and negative , The climate and its components (for example) had the greatest natural impact on the variation in the intensity of vehicle movement on the main roads in Dhi Qar Governorate.
