The University of Basrah retained the leading position in the British Times classification for sustainable development for the second year in a row, as it was the first locally, followed by the University of Babylon and then the University of Baghdad, in addition to being ranked thirteenth in the Arab world.
Forty-seven Iraqi universities and colleges registered competitive positions in the Times classification for sustainable development for 2022, which included (1406) institutions from (106) countries around the world. The official published results indicated that the University of Basrah ranked (301-400) globally, then Babylon University (401-600), and the University of Baghdad ranked (401-600).
It is worth mentioning that the British Times classification for sustainable development works on evaluating universities by achieving a number of United Nations goals out of (17) goals, including quality of education, health and well-being, partnerships, industry and innovation.
