The Educational Guidance Division, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit at the College of Fine Arts at the University of Basrah, held an electronic symposium on (bullying behavior and its impact on children and society).
The symposium, which was presented by the assistant teacher Alia Abdel-Zahra and moderated by the assistant teacher Hadeel Iyad Makki, included the phenomenon of bullying spread in society and its impact on individuals in building society.
The symposium discussed the nature of bullying as it is an aggressive behavior that aims to intentionally harm another person. Bullying has forms, including verbal bullying, such as making fun of the other, and social bullying as ignoring and isolating an individual from the community through the methods of bullying at home, school and work, which leads to a negative impact on society and psychological diseases.
The aim of the symposium is to present some methods of prevention or treatment of bullying, including parents’ containment of their children, communication with them, raising them in circumstances far from violence and disputes, creating good examples and following the biography of the prophets in tolerance, and enhancing the child’s self-confidence.
