The thesis presented by student Maha Sabah Kahyoush dealt with the use of different composite panels based on the direction of the angles of the fibers. The stress intensity factor and the shape factor were calculated for different fiber angle directions, different crack lengths and different crack locations for the same plate dimensions.
All for the same loading conditions, using the extended finite element theory. The plate is made of carbon and epoxy composite plate with five layers with the same fiber angles for each sample.
