The University of Basra Council rejects a bill for the foundations of equivalent degrees and academic degrees
The Basra University Council discussed in its second session for the academic year 2020/2021 held on Monday 11/2/2020 ((a draft law on the basis of equivalence of Arab and foreign degrees and academic degrees)) of great importance in dealing with cases of evaluation of certificates and the consequent scientific sobriety expected As well as the scientific promotions due to their extreme importance, and after reviewing the law, the entire assembly voted to reject it, especially as it passed without presenting it to the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the relevant ministry staff.
The University Council stressed the need for the active participation of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research represented by the Opinion Board and the Ministry’s cadres specialized in discussing laws and legislation related to higher education and its affairs in order to avoid any future intersections
