The College of Education for Human Sciences at the University of Basrah held a conference entitled (Basra’s Identity and Future Prospects).
The conference aims to increase awareness of Basra heritage as well as direct the attention of researchers to the importance of heading towards this heritage and highlighting it through individual studies for that.
The conference included a number of topics, the first of which is Basra in Islamic thought and the population diversity in Basra and its importance in promoting peaceful coexistence and the impact of Asian and Western trends and currents on Basra society.
The conference recommended the necessity of highlighting the bright side of Basra in all fields and the necessity of activating the role of the Archaeological Studies Unit in the college and specialized centers to focus on Basra issues in research studies.
