The Geology Department at the College of Science organized a panel discussion entitled (Determining and analyzing morphotectonic phenomena and the archaeological hills of Mesopotamia in southern Iraq using remote sensing techniques and geographic information systems). The seminar, in which the researcher Milad Ali Hussein lectured, aims to identify ancient canals and irrigation channels, as well as archaeological sites buried under the surface in the Mesopotamia basin area in southern Iraq, and to map their locations and extensions, and try to study the forms of these manifestations, and discuss the possible causes from the geological, geomorphological and human point of view.
