The Continuing Education Unit at the College of Education organized a workshop on (Characteristics of the flooding of the Diyala River for the year 2019 and the proposed solutions) with the participation of researchers and specialists
It included giving a full picture of the state of the flood season of the Diyala River for the year 2019 and the role of the responsible authorities in addressing its dangers and making proposals to address the negatives that emerged during it.
The workshop discussed the nature of the flooding of the Diyala River for the 2018-2019 water year, as the importance of studying the floods comes to add data regarding the operation of dams and the organization of activities related to the management of water resources in the river basin in a manner suitable for development in the region.
The workshop showed. The Faysan River Diyala for the water year 2018-2019 obtained because of the water revenues, which amounted to (11.0 billion cubic meters) more than their normal rates and the difficulty of passing them through the stream channel due to the encroachments on the river basin, which caused a 50% decrease in its capacity on the discharge of flood waves.
