A master's thesis at the College of Medicine, University of Basrah, discussed the role of (interferon-gamma and interleukin-10) in female infertility disorder. The research presented by the student Khaled Hassan Mezal aims to measure the ratio of the immunoglobulin interferon-gamma and interleukin-tenth in blood samples of infertile patients, as well as measuring them in vaginal swabs of the same patients and comparing them with samples of healthy women. The research concluded that most of the women patients during (1-5) years of infertility and most infertile women suffer from previous obesity. While the high percentage of the control group was within normal weight. Vaginal swabs (HVS) blood samples were also collected to detect anti-inflammatory cytokines (IL-10) and pro-inflammatory cytokines (IFN-γ) concentration using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. The highest concentration of anti-inflammatory cytokine (IL-10) was evaluated from a vaginal swab among a group of infertile women, and the mean serum concentration of IL-10 was evaluated. While the highest concentration of pro-inflammatory cytokines (IFN-γ) from vaginal smear among a group of infertile women (82.50 ± 23.60) with significant differences.
