The College of Arts at the University of Basrah organized its first annual scientific conference in the presence of a group of professors of translation departments in Iraqi universities.
The conference included translation studies, linguistics, interpretation, social sciences, studies in social communication, literature and other related fields.
The conference aims to shed light on all fields of translation and its studies and related fields such as linguistics and interpretation, as well as reviewing the latest developments and writings in those fields and exchanging information between the Department of Translation and the corresponding departments in other universities.
The conference came out with recommendations, the most important of which is the repetition of this experience in the next year, which helps to establish the required professionalism and prepare translators with distinguished job qualifications that supply the labor market with specialists in the field of translation because of the importance of this specialty at the present time.
