A master’s thesis in the College of Science, Department of Chemistry, University of Basrah examined (Synthesis, characterization, anti-breast cancer activity and molecular docking study of some new quinoline derivatives and their metal complexes) by student Raghad Jawad Kadhim Al-Dawji at the College of Pharmacy.
The thesis dealt with two parts, the first part being the preparation of a new series of sulfoquinolines from the reaction of quinoline derivatives with a number of sulfa compounds.
The theoretical study also included the calculations of Molecular Dynamic, and the results showed the time periods during which the link and overlap between the ligand and the receptor took place.
The experimental results showed the compatibility of the ligand with the protein at a specific time
The study concluded that quinoline derivatives can be prepared easily and with high yield, and a series of new compounds resulting from the union of quinoline derivatives with sulfa compounds and the possibility of preparing quinoline ligands with thiocarbazide and linking them with complexes of metal elements such as cobalt, copper and vanadium, and concluded that sulfaquinoline compounds have activity against breast cancer (7 - MCF).
