
The University of Basrah achieved a great achievement by being nominated for two Oscars for the Times Higher Education Classification of Asian Universities.
The University of Basrah was nominated among 8 universities out of 600 Asian universities, which was held at Fujita Medical University in Nagawa, Japan.
The delegation participating in the ceremony was headed by the President of Basrah University, Prof. Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi, accompanied by a number of deans of the university’s colleges.
The summit was also attended by His Excellency the Iraqi Ambassador in Tokyo, Mr. Abdul Karim Kaab, as well as the representative of the local government, the Administrative Deputy of the Governor of Basra, Dr. Durgham Al-Ajudi.
It is worth mentioning that the University of Basrah has achieved many scientific achievements during the last three years, among which the progress of its position in many international classifications, as well as its manufacture of a number of devices and equipment that have effectively contributed to saving the lives of citizens during the Corona pandemic, such as the manufacture of the carrier medium for virus samples as well as the artificial respiratory device.
