A delegation from the University of Basrah participated in the national workshop held by Imam Jaafar Al-Sadiq (peace be upon him) University on environmental awareness and the challenges of climate change.
The workshop aimed to shed light on the challenges facing the country as a result of climate changes and their reflection on the environmental and health reality, and possible solutions to reduce damage and adapt to those changes through the preparation of an integrated applicable strategy.
The workshop included discussing the current reality and challenges and providing practical solutions to confront the crisis.
Dr. Muhammad Nasser Fares stated that the University of Basrah participated in this national workshop through a group of specialized professors and those interested in this matter, believing in the importance of communicating the catastrophic reality in Basra Governorate at the environmental and health levels.
Fares added that the university presented the most important challenges and obstacles facing Basra and the damages resulting from climate change and the water scarcity file and the deterioration it causes in the environmental and health reality of the governorate, asking the concerned authorities to pay attention to the governorate and its environmental problems and work to provide support in solving these problems.
