
The University of Basrah and the Basra Gas Company launched a pioneering project in the field of oil services by establishing and rehabilitating an advanced training center in cooperation with the international organization OPITO to develop the offshore oil industry.
The aim bahind this project is to develop capabilities and enhance local competencies in the field of the oil industry and other fields, which will enable the university to be in the first place in Iraq authorized to give the certificate approved by the international organization OPITO.
Dr. Muhammad Nasser Faris also indicated that the University of Basrah seeks through this project to consolidate its partnership with the Basra Gas Company and international organizations for quality standards, and the university is also working to build bridges of scientific cooperation with all institutions to achieve a real partnership in marketing the university’s expertise in all fields as well as creating a job market for our university graduates and enable them to develop their skills and competence in their specializations.
It is worth mentioning that the cooperation with Basra Gas Company has resulted in many initiatives within the framework of the joint cooperation mechanism signed by the university with the company, including honoring outstanding students, providing support for some scientific laboratories, as well as employing the top graduates from some colleges and developing training programs for students according to the highest international standards in various fields.
