Within the cooperation mechanism signed between the University of Basrah and the Basra Gas Company, the university signed a memorandum of understanding to establish a training center at the College of Engineering at the University of Basrah to develop Iraqi capabilities and enhance local competencies and capabilities and bring them to the level of global skills, which will enable them to safely and effectively manage oil and gas facilities in the field of the oil industry and other fields.
The Dean of the College of Engineering, Prof. Ramzi Salem Ali, indicated that this project would make the University of Basrah the only institution in Iraq allowed to grant a certificate approved by OPITO.
Adding that this achievement calls for pride and is one of the fruitful results of joint cooperation between Basrah University and Basra Gas Company.
