PhD thesis in the Department of Educational and Psychological Sciences/ College of Education for Human Sciences, University of Basra_Designing an electronic course for Teaching Methods subject according to Quality Matters standards and its impact on students’ achievement and their attitudes towards it_for the student (Saad Mohsen Ali Al-Akaili)
The thesis dealt with (the future variable of designing an electronic course for Teaching Methods according to Quality Matters standards and two variables dependent on achievement and a measure of students’ attitudes towards the course. The current research was limited to the third stage students at Sumer University/ College of Basic Education/ First Grade Teacher Department. The researcher used the experimental design with partial control of the research sample.
The thesis aims to reveal (statement of the effect of designing an electronic course for teaching methods according to Quality Matters standards on students’ achievement and their attitudes towards it).
The research resulted in the following results:
1-There are statistically significant differences at the level of significance (0.05) between the average scores of the experimental group students who study according to the electronic course for the subject of teaching methods according to Quality Matters standards and the average scores of the control group students who study in the usual electronic way in the achievement test and in favor of the experimental group.
2-There are statistically significant differences at the level of significance (0.05) between the average scores of the experimental group students who studied the electronic course for Teaching Methods according to Quality Matters standards and the average scores of the control group in the students’ attitude scale in favor of the experimental group.
The thesis concluded:
1-Implementing the electronic course designed according to the quality standards of electronic courses, Quality Matters is a step that stimulates vitality and interaction in the hearts of students and spreads the spirit of cooperation, fun and love of participation in the lecture.
2-Teaching via the electronic course made the student the focus of the educational process.
In light of the research results, the thesis recommended a number of recommendations, including:
1-Working on designing electronic courses according to Quality Matters standards in Iraqi university education.
2-Spreading a culture of employing modern technology to benefit from its advanced data and tools in the economy in time, effort and cost in the educational process.
