Dr. Hanadi Abbas Jaber, the instructor at the Department of Computer Engineering and Prof. Dr. Mufeed Turky Rashid, Head of the Electrical Engineering Department, in cooperation with Prof. Hisham Salim Mahmoud from the University of Florida and Prof. Luigi Vertona from the University of Catania, Italy, published a research, titled (Incremental Adaptive Gesture Classifier for Upper Limb Prostheses), in (Sensors) journal, which is one of the journals affiliated with the International Publishing (IEEE), which is classified within the Clarivate containers, with an impact factor 3.301 and Scopus: CiteScore = 6.1.
The research includes an effective contribution to the manufacture of prosthetic limbs (the human prosthetic arm), as the contribution of scientific research is to analyze and interpret the contraction signals extracted from the human arm and analyze them using artificial intelligence and machine learning to interpret human hand gestures, as the results were recent and of value addition in this field.
