a master's thesis at the College of Pharmacy at the University of Basrah entitled (Evaluation of the protective roles of taxophilin and (Vitamin C) in protecting the heart and kidneys against subacute toxicity caused by diazinon in rats) by the student Shahd Muhammad Najib Mahmoud at the University of Basrah.
The study examined the effect of Taxifulol and Vitamin C together as antioxidants. Thirty-six female rats were divided into six groups that were vaccinated orally for 30 days. The first group received (20 mg/kg) of diazinon, the second group received (25 mg/kg) of taxifolin and (100 mg/kg) of vitamin C, then (20 mg/kg) of diazinon, and the third group received (25 mg/kg). ) of taxifolin, then (20 mg/kg) of diazinon, the fourth group received (100 mg/kg) of vitamin C, then (20 mg/kg) of diazinon, and the fifth group received (25 mg/kg) of taxifolin, then (100 mg) / kg) of vitamin C. Finally, group VI received distilled water and at the end, the rats were sacrificed and (5 ml) of blood was drawn and the heart and kidneys extracted for biochemical and histopathological analysis.
The study concluded that sub-acute administration of Taxifulolin and Vitamin C provides a protective effect for the heart and kidneys against oxidative stress caused by diazinon.
