
The Physiology, Pharmacology and Chemistry Branch of the College of Veterinary Medicine at Basrah University, in cooperation with the management of Basra Times Square Mall, organized an awareness campaign to prevent hemorrhagic fever, entitled (Healthy methods for preventing hemorrhagic fever and dealing with animal carcasses) in Times Square Mall.
The campaign also called on citizens and restaurant owners to use healthy methods in dealing with meat and how to preserve and cook it, with the need to wear gloves and healthy cooking methods.
On the other hand, the campaign instructed citizens to cook meat well for a period of 15 to 30 minutes at a temperature of 60° C, which is sufficient to weaken the hemorrhagic fever virus, as well as keeping meat in storage bags and freezing it at -20° C.
The staffs of the College of Veterinary Medicine participated in the campaign, Dr. (Mona Hamid Mahmoud, Nawras Abdel Ilah Alwan, Ahlam Ali Abdel Nabi, Bushra Falih Hassan, Zainab Abdel Wahab, Dr. Zainab Abbas Hassan, Janan Abdel Khader Hilal, Asmaa Sami Madi and Huda Kamel Khassaf) and distributed awareness leaflets to citizens explaining Methods of preventing hemorrhagic fever.
