The University of Basrah ranked first among Iraqi universities in the Umultiranking classification and fourth at the level of Arab universities, as well as the 47th in Asia.
The competition in this classification was between 2068 universities around the world, and it was the first participation of the University of Basrah which was ranked 348 globally and 47 in Asia, and the closest competitor to it from Iraqi universities is the Northern Technical University, which ranked 570.
The U-Multirank rating is a European rating system whose primary objective is to provide transparency about the diversity of higher education institutions compared to other global rankings. U-Multirank provides information about a wide range of higher education institutions and enables the user to identify and compare institutions with similar profiles and tasks.
It is worth mentioning that the system looks at five dimensions: teaching, learning, research, knowledge transfer, international orientation, and regional participation. It combines institutional classification, comparison of entire institutions, and field classifications.
