
The University of Basrah and Lukoil inaugurated a scientific laboratory in the College of Education in Qurna, which is the most modern at the local and Middle Eastern levels, in the presence of the Deputy Governor of Basra, Dr. Durgham Al-Ajwadi, and a number of heads of administrative units, government and scientific figures.
The President of Basrah University, Dr. Saad Shaheen, praised Lukoil's initiative to purchase a laboratory device, the latest in the world, describing it as a qualitative device, adding that the university is moving to provide the laboratories of its colleges with important devices to support the scientific movement at the university in coordination with the Basra Oil Company and other oil companies.
For his part, the Deputy Governor of Basra, Dr. Durgham Al-Ajwdy, stated that the advanced device has the ability to analyze more than 150,000 types of substances and discover their classifications, as well as identify unexamined and counterfeit medicines, carcinogens, narcotics and others. The device is considered the latest in the Middle East and the country and is of great importance to postgraduate and college students.
It is worth mentioning that the laboratory helps researchers and postgraduate students to conduct environmental and other analyzes and save them time and effort, and that the College of Education in Qurna is waiting for the laboratory to obtain the ISO certificate for the purpose of accreditation and the it will be ready to receive all beneficiaries.
