The Department of Architecture at the College of Engineering at the University of Basrah held discussions of graduation projects for students of the fifth stage for the morning and evening studies. It is necessary to clarify their ideas and explain and defend their products by answering the questions and inquiries of the committee aimed at developing and evaluating those ideas in a way that enhances the students’ confidence in the importance of these projects and their scientific value.
And Dr. Tahsin Ali Majid Al-Azzawi indicated that the students' ideas were distinguished for this year and in most of the submitted projects as being realistic ideas. It is a reflection of the lived reality, the city's needs and the desire to develop it. And by expressing their feeling of responsibility towards the city and the requirements for its advancement and meeting its needs, as they tried as much as they could to express this feeling with those proposals that we hope will be at the expense of the relevant authorities to work on developing and benefiting from them in one way or another as they are the product of scientific and practical efforts of the students for many months and following up Supervision by specialized professors. The invitation is open to all official bodies and institutions that wish to see these ideas.
These ideas and projects varied between the ideas of urban development for various places in the city of Basra in search of creating the social spaces and places needed by the people of the city. And among the recreational projects that try to invest the assets and capabilities of the city from rivers and others. As well as a number of projects with specialized ideas in specific areas.
