The instructors at the College of Engineering at the University of Basrah, Prof. Dr. Fadel Rahma Taher and Prof. Dr. Ghaida Abdul Razzaq Al-Suhail, published a scientific research, titled (Synchronization of Monostatic Radar Using a Time-Delayed Chaos-Based FM Waveform), in Remote Sensing journal, which is considered one of the reputable scientific journals with an impact factor of IF=5.349 in MDPI publishing house.
The research includes a proposal for a new 0.3 GHz single-static chaotic radar based on time-delay generation and processing of frequency modulated (FM) waveforms - that is, frequency modulation.
The objective of the design of this radar is to extract high precision information from targets where the correct value of the loop gain (G) has been carefully tuned in the phase locking loop (PLL) in order to recover the signal more reliably. In this system, PLL synchronization and radar interconnection are sufficient to recover the echo signal.
