A teacher at the College of Education for Human Sciences publishes a research in an international journal
The lecturer in the Geography Department (Prof. Dr. Safaa Abdel Amir Rushm Al-Asadi) published a research under the title
(Water quality and impacting factors on heavy metals levels in Shatt
Al ‑ Arab River, Basra, Iraq)
In the journal (Applied Water Science), a journal concerned with water sciences and affiliated to the Springer publishing house, which is included in the Clarvet classification.
The research entitled (water quality and factors affecting heavy metal levels in the Shatt al-Arab River, Basra, Iraq) studied and evaluated the quality of the Shatt al-Arab water from total dissolved salts, pH, dissolved oxygen, nitrates, chlorides, turbidity and total hardness, and the effect of changing levels of heavy metals on the quality of water spatially. And temporal. The river’s physiochemical properties and the heavy elements were determined, and the places of their concentration and change were observed along the Shatt al-Arab River. The study showed the extent of the impact of marine waters on the quality of river water and the impact of human activities represented by oil production and electric power operations on heavy metals.
