Dr. Salah Shaker Hashem, a lecturer at the College of Science, Department of Chemistry, University of Basrah, was honored with the Shield of Creativity and Excellence by the Director General of the General Company for Petrochemical Industries for his great and distinguished role in restarting the petrochemical plant in Basrah, which has been suspended for more than 12 years, through his active contribution to planning For the maintenance and operation of the ethylene plant, the rehabilitation of the ethylene tank and the low-density polyethylene plant, in addition to the completion and registration of three patents with the State Company for Petrochemical Industries
