
The University of Basrah organized the Creativity Festival 2022 to honor the creators of Iraq in various scientific, cultural, literary and poetic fields, with a presence marked by diversity from the north to the south of the country.
The aim of the festival is to shed light on the various creations, highlight and honor them, to be emulated and benefit from the experiences of those working on them.
The festival included reciting poems that sing of love for the homeland and rejecting sectarianism, and a performance titled Wound of Iraq, then a lyrical operetta for children. On the other hand, the gardens of the presidency of the University of Basrah hosted a handicraft bazaar and an exhibition of painting, and the festival concluded by distributing shields and certificates of appreciation to the creative people.
During the opening ceremony, the Assistant President of Basrah University for Administrative Affairs, Dr. Ali Himdhi Diab, welcomed the attendees and the guests of Basra from the governorates, and indicated that the University of Basrah supports creativity and innovators and adopts their projects in order to optimize them and present them to the community to benefit from.
Diab added that with the presence of talented creators, our university has been able to top international and local rankings, and we have become an example to be followed at all levels inside and outside Iraq.
