A master’s thesis at the College of Pharmacy at the University of Basrah discussed (preparation and evaluation of the antibacterial and analgesic activity of some antipyrine amine derivatives) by the student Abeer Issa Muhammad Abdullah.
The thesis included the preparation of three chains of 4-aminoantipyrine derivatives, which are tetrazol, oxadiazole and triazole derivatives. At first, two compounds (A) and (P) were prepared from the reaction of 4-aminoantipyrine with chloroacetyl chloride or 3-chloropropionyl chloride as primary compounds to produce the derivatives.
The antibacterial results of the new prepared series showed that the tetrazole derivatives compounds showed moderate to slight activity against most types of bacteria (Gram-positive bacteria) and activity with a larger inhibition diameter against (Gram-negative bacteria).
