Prof. Dr. Fadhel Rahma Taher and Prof. Dr. Abdul Basit Abdul-Samad Al-Hussein, both teaching staff at the College of Engineering at the University of Basrah, in cooperation with researchers from several universities, including the Italian Salento and the Canadian Monitopia, published a joint scientific research in the Journal of Computational and Mathematical Methods in Medicine, which is considered one of the Sober international scientific journals with a high impact factor IF=2.238 in Hindawi Publishing House. titled:
Chaos in Cancer growth model with commensurate and in commensurate fractional-order derivatives.
The research aims to study the hidden chaotic patterns in the dynamics of the interaction of tumors with the immune system. Understanding these patterns helps in the battle against cancer, and to find modern and successful treatment methods. A new mathematical model has been proposed to represent the tumor-immune interaction using rates of change with equal and unequal fractional forces, then a set of mathematical analysis tools were used for nonlinear systems such as fission diagrams and Lyapunov foundations for an in-depth understanding of tumor growth.
It is worth noting that this work is considered a link to be added to the series of achievements of the College of Engineering, the Electrical Department, which aims to enhance the scientific and academic level of the college and raise the university’s hierarchy in international rankings, and this research comes within the framework of scientific cooperation with international universities in developed countries.
