A PhD thesis at the College of Science at the University of Basrah, titled (Cellular study of gene expression of extracellular matrix degrading enzymes in prostate cancer cells).
The thesis of the researcher (Azhar Abdul-Jabbar Amin) showed the role of extracellular enzymes in the development and spread of prostate cancer and the role of histological inhibitors of these enzymes in the spread of cancer cells.
The study aimed to reveal the role of some inhibitors in reducing the levels of these enzymes by using cancer cells and treating them with miR30a and INF-Y, and then determining the gene expression levels of these enzymes before and after treatment.
The study concluded the role of miR30a and INF-Y in reducing the levels of these enzymes and increasing the cell death of cancer cells after treatment.
