The College of Education for Women at the University of Basrah participated in the international symposium on Orientalism and Imam Al-Hussein (peace be upon him).
The symposium, in which the instructor Abbas Qassem Attia from the History Department participated, and which was held by the Foundation of Warith of the Prophets affiliated to the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, included Orientalism's interest in the Hussaini renaissance, which took a wide space in their writings, and shed light on the personalities who participated in this renaissance.
This symposium is in preparation for the international conference that will be held by the Foundation through nine topics dealing with the Husseini renaissance as the personality of the Imam (peace be upon him), his family and his companions, orientalists’ vision of Husseini rituals and monuments, as well as the literary and artistic studies of orientalists for the Husseini renaissance.
