A PhD thesis at the College of Education for Human Sciences at the University of Basrah (Cartographic representation and geomorphological analysis of land slopes in Al-Salman district, south of Al-Muthanna governorate using RS and GIS)
Researcher Ihab Aziz Darfash Al-Ziyadi's thesis dealt with remote sensing (RS) and geographic information systems (GIS) techniques as a basis in the cartographic representation of land slopes within the Al-Salman district, and then geomorphologically analyzed and determined the prevailing regressive characteristics.
The thesis aims to employ remote sensing techniques and geographic information systems to derive regressions within Al-Salman district and to develop the necessary classifications in this field. As well as building an updatable information base on the geomorphological forms in the region, and preparing a cartographic index to represent them that may contribute to the development of strategic plans for development by future decision makers.
