A PhD thesis at the College of Engineering at the University of Basrah discussed the theoretical and experimental analysis of the dynamic and fatigue behavior of reinforced synthetic rubber.
The thesis presented by the student Saddam Khalsan Koyes dealt with the practical investigation of the effect of adding different percentages of natural rubber compound, polybutane, three different types of carbon black, and different percentages of multi-walled carbon tubes on mechanical properties (such as maximum stress, elongation, tear resistance, compressive strength) and dynamic properties (such as rebound, damping ratio, elastic and viscous stiffness, dynamic rigidity), as well as aging properties, and fatigue life.
In addition, the thesis also included analytical and numerical verification using Ansys Workbench 2020 R2 suitcase for the dynamic behavior of a laminate based on an elastic-viscous basis under the influence of the aspect ratio of the plate width, the thickness of the plate, and the boundary conditions of the edges of the plate.
The thesis aims at theoretical and experimental analysis of the dynamic and fatigue behavior of synthetic rubber.
