A master's thesis in the College of Agriculture, Department of Plant Protection, discussed a field survey of the types of Bruchinae insects of the order Coleoptera and the impact of their most important types on some types of legumes stored and their control in Basra Governorate. The letter of researcher Alaa Ahmed Kazem included a field survey of the presence of members of the Bruchinea family in the warehouses and fields of the Basra governorate, a study of the susceptibility of infecting some varieties of bean to the members of the Bruchinea family in the field, calculating the percentage and severity of infection and combating the southern cowpea beetle using ozone gas. The thesis aims to diagnose the types of insects of the Awilla Bruchinae on bush plants and legumes (cowpea, peas, beans, sorghum, chickpeas) stored in the Basra regions. And study the effectiveness of ozone gas in affecting the whole of the southern cowpea beetle in the store and at different levels of temperature in the laboratory. The thesis recommended not to use chemical pesticides as a therapeutic or preventive means of resistance to legume beetles on pods in the field, since insects do not infect leguminous grains in the field, and to focus on stores in following appropriate prevention methods, since the insect is isolated in growth and reproduction in the warehouse environment and getting rid of infected grains and making sure that Clean the store from the previous waste before storing the healthy grains
