I discussed a master’s thesis at the College of Engineering at the University of Basrah entitled (Complex Dynamics and Chaotic Oscillation in the Induction Motor System: Detection and Control)
The thesis presented by the student Fatima Nouri Ayoub included the study of the electric market system model for the induction motor with indirect field control (IFOC), the common behavior in the related system in the steady state, which is approaching the fixed value close to the reference value
A proportional-integrated PI control system was used to regulate the speed, the gain of the controller plays an important role as it affects the transient and steady-state behaviors of the system.
The thesis aims at the occurrence of the phenomenon of chaos, strange dynamics and hidden patterns in the induction motor drive, which occur as a result of non-linearity in the system.
The thesis concluded the analysis of the stability of equilibrium points using the method of considering the behavior near the point linear for different values of parameters, controller gain, load torque and time constant of rotating time. The dynamic analyzes showed great convergence with the results of numerical simulation.
The simulation results also demonstrated that the adaptive control was effective in suppressing chaos and polarizing complex dynamics.
