A thesis researched at the College of Engineering at the University of Basrah (the behavior of composite panels of corrugated steel sheets bonded to ferrocement sheets)
The thesis presented by the student Muhammad Abdul-Baqer Jannam included a theoretical and practical study of the conduct of composite panels of corrugated steel sheets bonded with ferrocement sheets. Ten models to show the efficiency of the proposed bonding methods and twenty models for PSSF composite panels of ribbed steel panels bonded with ferrocement sheets, in addition to one model for each of the ribbed steel panels and ferrocement panel. The ferrocement on the structural behavior and the maximum resistance of these panels. In the second part, the finite element method was used to analyze the examined panels using a three-dimensional representation. The relationships of the nonlinear behavior of ferrocement, polygonal steel sheets and reinforcing mesh were used. The ANSYS version program was adopted to analyze the three-dimensional model.
The thesis aims at many benefits, including light weight, ease of transportation and construction, in addition to a new bonding method using adhesive to connect the components of this system.
The thesis concluded that the thickness of ferrocement sheets has a clear effect on the resistance of PSSF composite panels, as it was found that by increasing the thickness of the ferrocement sheet from 10 mm to 40 mm, the strength of the composite panels bonded using epoxy increased by an average of 166%, while the increase was at a rate of 161% for the models bonded using metal screws with epoxy
