I discussed a PhD thesis at the College of Engineering at the University of Basrah (Finding the smart path for data in vehicle networks)
The thesis submitted by the student Taqwa Uday Fahd included four smart protocols capable of improving the efficiency of this type of network. The first two of them are designed to work within the vehicle-to-vehicle communication model (v2v), while the other two are designed to suit the work in the vehicle-to-vehicle communication model (v2x).
The first method (Comp-FAODV) provided the integration of a set of the most effective criteria related to the number of vehicles in the path, the distance between the vehicles relative to the transmission range, the direction of movement relative to the target, in addition to the difference in the speed of movement
While the second proposed method (OMMA-AODV) used smart techniques from fuzzy systems and artificial bee colony algorithm related to predicting the age of the chosen path, controlling the width of the spread of path request messages in addition to choosing the best path based on a number of effective criteria
While the last two methods were called (OMMA-V2X-AODV) and (OTMMA-V2X AODV), in the first the same principles of the proposed idea were applied in the previous method within the environment of the communication hybrid vehicle networks, while the last method was expanded to discuss also the issue of improving control over the depth of spread of request messages Path using artificial bee colony optimization algorithm
The thesis aims to study the efficiency of applications mainly on the efficiency of the protocol used in finding the path that the data takes, providing a solution to the issue of the criterion used in determining the path of the data, in addition to addressing three of the most important stages of the critical path selection protocol using smart techniques
The thesis concluded that the results of the simulation experiments proved the validity, efficiency and effectiveness of the proposed protocols when selected on a specific area, whether from the internal roads of Basra city or from the highway (1-95) in terms of packet delivery rate, productivity rate, delay rate and number of control packets.
