I discussed a PhD thesis at the College of Engineering at the University of Basrah entitled (Development of New Algorithms Inspired by Nature) by the student Donia Sattar Taher
The thesis focused on two different main directions. The first direction represents improving the performance of two algorithms inspired by nature using chaos theory, namely the sine algorithm, the cosine algorithm and the crow search algorithm.
The sine and cosine algorithm simulates the mathematical functions of the sine and cosine functions, while the other algorithm is a new algorithm inspired by a technique used by crows to find food.
These two algorithms suffer from some defects, such as their slowness in obtaining the optimal solution and falling at the local ends. The sine algorithm is cosine. Moreover, this thesis proposed a new chaotic algorithm to enhance the performance of the raven search algorithm called the raven search algorithm second version.
Finally, the second direction of this thesis focused on presenting a new algorithm inspired by the technique of sun flower growth in nature, called the Smart Flower Algorithm. The accuracy of the results, the execution time and the speed of convergence and under the same conditions showed the superiority of the proposed smart flower algorithm over the rest of the algorithms in most of the countries that were used and from different aspects
