A master’s thesis at the College of Engineering at the University of Basrah examined (a practical and theoretical study of the beams of Reactive Powder Concrete (RPC) under the influence of bending and shear loads) by the student Hussein Sadeq Latif
The thesis dealt with an attempt to obtain the best ratios of the components of (RPC) so that the maximum compressive strength is achieved. The different processing environments and their time durations and their impact on the compressive, tensile and flexural strength of (RPC) are also explored.
Five groups of bridges made of RPC for which conventional reinforcement was used were studied to study the flexural strength and shear strength.
Theoretical equations to predict the ideal strength of the moments that were prepared took into account the types of failure such as the crushing of concrete using the strength of iron fibers
It was found that increasing the amount of iron fibers from (20% - 23.75%) increases the pressure, tensile, flexion and maximum flexural strength of the load by (37%, 34%, 60%, 16%), respectively.
The practical load that causes shear failure was obtained to be greater than the theoretical by (5%-22%)
It was also found in the natural treatment that the increase in compressive strength as a result of the reaction of silica fume (RPC) may be delayed to 91 days.
