A master's thesis at the College of Engineering at the University of Basrah examined (design and construction of a system for storing things using a path-tracking robot) by student Fatima Rajab Ali.
The thesis dealt with the design of a system for storing things that contains several boxes arranged in several columns, these boxes can be used to store and return small things such as mobile phones according to a secret code entered by the user interface unit, the principle of storing and returning these things depends on the use of robots that follow the path, use Two types of environment to represent the paths of the robot towards the storage bins
The first is the stable environment, which is based on the N-arytree algorithm. In this environment, three methods are designed and compared to choose the best in latency and average path length. Numerical difference algorithm is used to make the movement of the robot smoother.
The second type is the dynamic environment, which has paths changing according to the selected storage box. One method is designed to have paths changing according to the selected storage box. The selected path is illuminated by a group of light-emitting diodes connected along this path.
The thesis concluded that the improved algorithm is used in the stable environment to reduce the fluctuation of the movement of the mobile robot on the path tracking system.
Using the Bezier curve algorithm in the dynamic environment to reduce the oscillation that occurs when the mobile robot moves on the path tracking system.
