The thesis dealt with presenting a new technique, which will use hardness to determine the heat-affected zone (HAZ) of cracked welded samples to find mechanical fracture parameters such as stress density coefficient and crack opening displacement, as well as simulation using the finite element program Apax, which will be implemented to complete the study in this project. They are very useful for the design of welded joints. The practical part included preparing a number of AISI1010 metal samples from low carbon steel for evaluation and study of some mechanical properties such as hardness, stress density modulus and displacement of the slot mouth opening. Three-dimensional crack analysis of the samples. Finally, the thesis concluded that the numerical results were compared with the results of experimental tensile tests and crack tests. The practical results were well compared with the theoretical values we obtained from the Abacus Finite Element Program, where the proposed method was used to investigate in a variety of ways.
