The master's thesis at the College of Engineering at the University of Basrah examined (Memristor-based Nonlinear Electronic Circuits: Dynamics and Synchronization) by Saif Monem Ramadan, and the thesis addressed that nonlinear systems have received more attention in the design and implementation of circuits to generate complex dynamics. The interest in non-linear circuits has increased because they can be implemented using simple electronic components available in the market, but they give very complex behaviors. Nonlinear circuits are widely used in many applications: secure communications, medicine, control, etc. In nonlinear circuits, the nonlinear parts are produced by multiplying two variables or polynomials. A memristor is a nonlinear part that can make circuits nonlinear and give complex behaviors. The introduction of the memristor in non-linear electronic circuits leads to an increase in their order, given that circuits with higher orders are more suitable for secure communications.
In this paper a new memristor model is proposed using the inverse tangent function. The proposed model achieved the properties of the memristor (three fingerprints of memristor) and this new function can be implemented easily because it corresponds to a pair of differential bipolar transistors. The electronic circuit of the memristor was implemented using a current-feedback process amplifier (CFOA). Synchronization is the basic idea in the applications of nonlinear electronic circuits. In this thesis, two types of synchronization have been proposed and applied to memristor based circuits, the first type is PC synchronization and the other is feedback control synchronization. The results of the electronic circuits indicated that the synchronization error that was observed for the PC is for the feedback control. The results show that the performance of the feedback control is better than that of the PC, so the feedback control will be used in the application (the encryption process).
