
The environmental scientific team of the University of Basrah announced the start of collecting water samples from the Shatt al-Arab, in order to study the percentage of salt pollution.
The head of the Microbiology Branch at Al-Zahra College of Medicine, Dr. Hussein Kateh Abdel-Sada, explained that in response to the city's need for urgent solutions to the increase in the salinity in the water of the Shatt al-Arab, the scientific team at the University of Basrah collected samples from the water of the Shatt al-Arab, using the boat (ZMC1) manufactured by the RC team at Al-Zahra College of Medicine.
Stressing that 6 liters were collected from different areas for study, and the samples were delivered to the Marine Science Center to begin studying the level of pollution.
He mentions that the University of Basrah produced a controlled boat to collect water samples from rivers for study in record time, and it was tested in the Basra River, where it collected (500) ml of water samples efficiently and very quickly.
