The College of Science at the University of Basrah discussed a master's thesis titled (Sedimentary Specifications of the Saadi Formation in West Qurna Field, Southern Iraq).
The study of the researcher, Adyan Ali Mizban, included evaluating the performance of the oil reservoir by studying the petrophysical properties and modification processes and their impact on the quality of the reservoir.
The study concluded that the lower part of the Saadi formation is an oil reservoir, but it is considered a narrow and weak reservoir because it is characterized by medium porosity and low permeability, due to the fact that most of the pores are not connected.
